Frequently Asked Questions

Ready to become a client with ABS Nutrition and Fitness? LOOK AT YOU GO!

You're obviously smart, so I bet you have a few questions, too! Based on previous client questions, we've compiled a short list of common concerns that may help you too.

Please read below and if after reading through these FAQs you're still scratching your head and not sure about a few thingsplease let me know.

Can I do a Discovery Call? How do I know if you're a good fit?

We understand if you're wondering, "Is Andie a good fit for me (or my child)?" Nutrition counseling can feel like a vulnerable, personal experience and you want to make sure your Dietitian is on the same page. If you have insurance, your first visit will be a discovery call of sorts, in person or tele-health, and with insurance it's a full 60 minutes of getting to know her approach. Which is way better than a 15 minute phone chat, if you ask us.

If you have a specific concern or would like to inquire about a specialty I may cover, please let me know

Still unsure about scheduling a session and wondering if Andie is trained in a specific nutrition speciality or area of concern?

Please check out Andie's area of specialties below:

Why is there so much paperwork?

The process of becoming a client at ABS Nutrition and Fitness can seem daunting.  WE FEEL YA!  But, this 2-step process is truly a time saver for you in the long run, and allows us to really dig into your health questions right away in your initial appointment.

What to expect:
Step one: After receiving your inquiry, we will email you the nutrition coaching application (Google form) so we can check to see if additional medical information is needed by your doctor for using insurance.

Step two: In that same initial email, you will receive a script (we call it the ABS Verification Form) for calling your insurance company to verify MNT (medical nutrition therapy) coverage. Print that form if possible, and write the answers your insurance company gives you on there. Look on the back of your insurance card and call the number for member services and follow the script.

Once the information has been written down on that form, you can upload it into the nutrition application mentioned in step one, or it can be emailed to hello@absnutritionandfitness.com.

Submitting all of this requested information prior to your appointment gives you a running start toward meeting your goals! Andie will review all of your information before your first session so that you can start working on your nutrition goals right away, rather than spending valuable time doing paperwork. If you have any issues with the paperwork, feel free to email us for help at hello@absnutritionandfitness.com.

Why do I need to complete a credit card authorization form if I am using insurance?

We understand your time is valuable, and we want to ensure all appointments run smoothly. This form is an important part of our process to secure your booking and streamline our insurance billing. We never charge your card without notifying you first and every effort is made to have your sessions covered by insurance, if using.  Occasionally co-pays are required, or you may want to purchase supplements, and having your credit card on file facilitates those steps.

What costs can I expect?

If you will be self-pay, please check out our self-pay page here for our package pricing. If you are using insurance, your out of pocket costs will vary and depend on your insurance coverage. Occasionally there are deductibles, co-pays or denied claims that may need paid by the patient, but typically most sessions are covered by insurance. Other costs that could incur would be late fee charges, or add-on services if you choose. These are questions you will find the answer to when you call your insurance company with the above mentioned ABS Verification Form.

Why is there a cancellation fee?

Much like a physician's office, I require a 24 hour cancellation/rescheduling notice prior to your appointment. If you cancel or reschedule with less notice than that, a $95 late cancellation fee will be charged. We do take into consideration emergencies, but if you have any doubt about keeping your appointment, it is best to reschedule well in advance.

Do you take insurance?

We sure do!  Please visit our insurance page here for more details.

Where are you located?

We are in Mullica Hill in the Extra Space Storage Suites. Please visit our separate location page here for more detailed instructions.

Can I discuss my child's eating disorders or disordered eating with you after their appointment?

In order to prioritize your child during our sessions, we offer a separate "parent debriefing" session at an additional fee. If you would like to discuss further the topics covered in their appointments, please let me know and we can schedule you a time to meet.
